Kenyan based KTN TV reporter Joy Doreen Biira who introduced her fiance Newton Kungu was at the weekend arrested in her home district Kasese, Uganda .
Ms Biira was arrested a day after her introduction ceremony and detained at Kasese Police station alongside five other people over illegal filming of military raid on Rwenzururu palace in Kasese town.
Ms Biira’s introduction ceremony went on smoothly regardless of the interruptions caused by the Kasese shootings which started almost before her function kicked off. The attendance was not as expected since most people feared for their lives and preferred to stay in their homes other than attending a function.
They were on Monday afternoon released from police custody after police said it would charge them with abetting terrorism.
Ms Biira was arrested and detained at Kasese Police station alongside five other people over illegal filming of military raid on Rwenzururu palace in Kasese town. She has been released this afternoon and she is expected to report to Kasese Police on 8th December.
