Wava apologises to Mukikadde organisers

Businessman Gordon Wavamunno a few weeks ago made headlines at the second edition of the Tugende Mukikadde.

This came after the event hosts Andrew Kyamagero and Malaika Nnyanzi started auctioning music CDs of artistes that performed at the show.

The auctioning went on well until the duo landed on Gordon Wavamunno. When he was asked to buy a CD, Wava lost his cool and without a pinch of politeness asked the organisers on the microphone how he came and paid for a table to enjoy the concert and he was not ready to buy a CD because he found it improper after paying Shs3m for a table.

This left the organisers of the show and hosts embarrassed. According to sources, Wavamunno called Patrick Kalungi, the founder of Sprout Africa, the organisers of the show, and extended apologies for his behaviour that evening. When we talked to Kalungi, he confirmed the news.

“Wavamunno called me and apologised for what he said at the event after realising that his statement attracted bloggers and journalists writing bad about the event,” Kalungi said, adding that after the businessman then promised to be part of the next edition of the show.

Apparently Wavamunno even asked Kalungi to pass by his office to discuss a potential sponsorship deal.
