Akon’s wife set to inject Shs44B in the Ugandan entertainment industry

News reaching sQoop desk indicates that Rozina Negusei a wife to American singer Akon is in Uganda.  Apparently, she is here for business that involves the promotion of Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Ms. Negusei who is an entrepreneur is the President/CEO Zanar Entertainment, Entreeg Records & Entreeg Entertainment Group.

Negusei is on the invitation of the East African Partners (EAP) Managing Director, Isaac Kigozi and she spoke to journalists from Latitude Hotel in Makindye where she is currently staying. “We are here to explore new opportunities in Uganda, we are focused on investing in Agriculture, solar, and real estate. Our main focus is to see how we can bridge the gap between East Africa and West Africa in terms of business and trade,” she said.

During her tour, Negusei seeks to have a clear understanding of the several opportunities that Uganda offers in the identified sectors.

She added that: “We wanted to bring entertainment in Africa, we are looking for a hub, a home to be the Africa Hollywood; America became America not because of Agriculture but because of the entertainment industry. If we bring entertainment whether movie, music award, every year, Uganda can become the home of the entertainment industry.”

She revealed that for the start, she has set aside $12M (Shs44B) as the investment package for five years.

Negusei who is arrived ahead of Akon’s visit to the country will be visiting different government departments, agencies, and the private sector.

She came along with a group of Turkish investors from LCB Worldwide a multinational company who invests in host countries points of entry to conduct Prevention Solutions to combat pathogens which could lead to pandemics.
