Idringi for monthly shows in Lagos

The Nite of 1,000 Laughs, that originated from Nigeria made its debut in Kampala last Friday, thanks to comedians Patrick Idringi aka Salvado and Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo. Pablo was the first Ugandan comedian to perform in Nigeria and has since featured on several continental comedy shows outside the country. But the mantle was seemingly becoming too heavy for Pablo to carry alone. Salvado came in handy. The former MTN switch engineer recently represented the country at the Nite of 1,000 Laughs show in Nairobi and impressed. Salvado convinced the organisers of the continental show to bring it to Uganda and they were not disappointed last Friday and he wasn’t either. Besides being booked for shows in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, England and the US, Salvado got yet another major comedy deal last week.

The Crackers comedy outfit boss will perform at a monthly show with one of Africa’s best comedians Klint the Drunk whom he met at the Nite of 1,000 Laughs. Salvado will be flying to Lagos every month starting this October for a comedy show that will be aired on two Nigerian TV stations. An excited Salvado was however tightlipped about how much he will bring home per month but he didn’t hesitate to tell us that his pay will in dollars! Go Salvado!
