Sundays done right: Daycation brunch serves style, sound, and sips

There are few better ways to close out a weekend than with good music, great food, stylish company and a glass of something premium in hand. That was exactly the vibe at Silo Lounge this past Sunday, as the June edition of the Daycation Brunch delivered an indulgent, sun-soaked experience that checked all the right boxes.

Held every month, the Silo Daycation Brunch has become a staple for Kampala’s lifestyle crowd, and the latest edition—powered by Don Julio—was a masterclass in effortless daytime luxury.

Guests pulled out all the stops when it came to fashion. Men showed up in crisp linen shirts, shorts, and sleek designer shades, while the ladies dazzled in breezy summer dresses, chic heels, and glam makeup looks that held strong from midday through golden hour.

A lush, visually striking backdrop at the entrance gave everyone the perfect photo op, instantly setting a tone of elegance, celebration, and curated aesthetics.

The scene inside was equally elevated. Some guests opted for Don Julio signature cocktails, mixed and served with flair, while others went full luxe with premium bottle service to share among friends. The vibe was festive but relaxed—an atmosphere built around connection, conversation, and contentment.

Music was the heartbeat of the day. A lineup of top Kampala DJs including Selector Jay, DJ Anselm, Melvyn DJ, Fem Deejay, Crysto the DJ, and DJ Matson took turns on the decks, spinning seamless sets that moved effortlessly from smooth R&B to Afro-house, amapiano, and timeless feel-good classics.

A highlight moment came mid-afternoon when Carsteny took the stage and performed a live medley of R&B favourites. With his soulful vocals and commanding stage presence, he had the crowd clapping mid-song and erupting into cheers by the end of his set.

And of course, no brunch is complete without exceptional food. Silo’s culinary team delivered a lavish spread that featured everything from rich mains and expertly baked pastries to fresh juice stations and scoops of refreshing ice cream. It was the kind of fare that matched the mood—generous, refined, and satisfying.

By late afternoon, the venue was alive with laughter, clinking glasses, snapping selfies, and dancing between courses. As the sun dipped and the DJ sets wound down, one thing was clear—Silo’s Daycation Brunch isn’t just an event; it’s a whole Sunday state of mind.
