Malik – Tugume rematch for July 13

Just when everyone had written off kick-boxer Malik Kaliisa, after losing to UPDF’s Titus Tugume last year, the kick-boxer who is linked to fashion designer Sylvia Owori says he is down but not out. In fact he intends to rise again and has asked for a re-match with Tugume who was voted USPA kick-boxer of 2011. Everything has been finalised and the fight is slated to take place on July 13 at the MTN arena in Lugogo.

This fight should put an end to the feud between the two as Malik said he did not perform well last time because the event was postponed due to rain, yet the next day ring was slippery due to an ealirer downfall. This time the fight has been moved from Kati Kati to an indoor venue, so the issue of a slippery ring shouldn’t arise.

This fight is organised by Sylvia Owori who has been nick-named Don Queen after legendary US boxing promoter Don King. Socialite Zari’s husband Ivan Ssemwanga has bankrolled Malik’s camp. Tickets will cost Shs50,000 for V.I.P, Shs25,000 for ordinary seats and Shs10,000 for the stands.
