The Music Video: Voom Voom – Henry Tigan

Is it me or our artistes flirting around with the zouk sound? Iryn Namubiru had Birowoozo that was heavy with a zouk feel to it. Then we had Chamiili’s Valu Valu. We had Pressure Ya Love by Walden and simanya who! Now it’s Henry Tigan’s turn with a zouk sounding Voom Voom. See our artistes are copy-cats, I can see the likes of Sizzaman, Eagles Production, “Queen of the Dancehall” Bella etc etc all jumping onto this Zouk thing! Please spare the zouk sound, you have no artistic understanding of that sound to even jump on it! Please go back to your kidandali sound!

Okay, moving on to Tigan’s video. It is a typical Tigan video … nothing exceptional. It’s the usual dull kind of picture with no life at all in almost all aspects from costume to the character of Tigan who always looks like the landlord is demanding seven months’ rent from him.

But what saves Tigan a lot is that his songs compensate for the rubbish videos. Most of his songs are lovely and Voom Voom is one of them. So basically one gets lost in the song and somehow ignores the video. Personally I feel this track so much!

Good song. Typical Tigan Video.
