My CV

Quick CV: Simon Kaheru

Director/ Lead Analyst @ SMS Media

First Car
A Mitsubishi Mirage that I named ‘Agnes’ after my grandmother.

Current Car
A Land Rover Discovery and a Land Rover Defender. The Discovery is a sturdy car.

Dream Car
I feel a sense of Deja Vu answering this – my dream car is whatever car I own. I try to live in the moment I’m in.

First Job
It was one of those jobs children do to earn extra pocket money – like washing cars or something.

Current Job
I am a director at SMS Media. I play a management role but we are so small that I often dig in and compose the odd SMS. I am also a lead analyst at Media Analyst. I do a lot of writing and thinking up concepts for a wide range of clients.

Got where I am by
Good parenting – right from my grandfathers, down to my parents – which is why I spend a lot of time with my own children, nieces and nephews. My grandfather inculcated in us the motto “Be Serious”, while my parents used, “Use your imagination!”

Fav Gadget
Any gadget that connects me to my loved ones – most importantly over the Internet.

Fav Movie
Any movie I watch with my wife and kids at home.

Fav Meal
An arrangement that involves roast meats, eggplant, a spot of rice and a very hot pot of spiced tea.

Worst Habit
Taking work home.

Inspired by
The need to be happy.

Best Quote
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” – Psalm 23: 1. Thank God for Miss MacGillvery, my first Sunday school teacher.
