James Bond
James Bond character Daniel Craig will be hitting town next month. The Uganda and James Bond relationship dates back to one of the previous movies, Casino Royale that had a scene set in Mbale. The scene had a rebel leader many took for Joseph Kony because he spoke some Acholi words in the scene, though no reference was made to Kony himself. The scene was however shot in some woods in England not Uganda.
Agent 007 is however not coming here to shoot a movie scene. Rather, the actor will be here to introduce Heineken, one of the Bond movie franchise major sponsors to the Ugandan market.
The promo will coincide with the release of the latest Bond movie, Sky Fall and Craig has already endorsed the beer brand with an ad campaign ahead of the movie’s release. Apparently, the movie will be screened at Oasis Mall on October 25, a week ahead its the global release. It will also be simultaneously show in Tanzania and Kenya making East Africa the first region to see the latest Bond movie.
