The music video :Party on my mind – Cleo

This video was so predictable for me the first time. It was obvious there was going to be someone showcasing their party obsession (which is not bad).

However when it comes to colour and lighting, this video is an arrow to the knee. Don Mugisha of Deddac Filmz definitely differentiates Cleo from the many mediocre Ugandan artistes appearing in run-of-the-mill videos about partying. However, I will not stop complaining about the video concept being nothing out of the ordinary. There is not much creativity in the video.

Cleo is the only female that did not take time to scheme through her party attires. One moment she is applying makeup and the next thing we know, she is getting down the stairs-thrilled about the party. The choreography was obvious though well executed (except for a few bores that rubbernecked as others danced with excitement).
The best bit of the video was the progression to the end. The well-coordinated dance strokes. It got infectious at this point especially seeing Cleo losing herself to the music as she danced, taking her attention off the white guy.

But at some points it looked like Cleo was forcing the happiness. Somehow, her facial expressions showed fatigue.  She should thank the guy in the green-checked shirt for putting life in the so-called party. It is one good video to watch and relax your mind especially after you are dumped. It will make you get on your feet, erase your sad thoughts as you dance to the heavy beat.

However, the location of the video is not one that makes one have a party running through their mind all day. Well, unless it is the muchomo that brought the excitement. Party On My Mind in a few words is a video with minimalist creativity but creditable montage.  It is commendable but not extraordinary.
