Last Friday, we heard the good news that our former Monitor Publication MD, Conrad Nkutu had assumed a new role as the Head of Corporate Affairs at Tullow Oil. And before we could start guessing who would take over from Nkutu at his Fast Track Productions Ltd, the producers of The Hostel TV Series, the man exhibited top notch managerial skills by making it very easy for us.

On Monday, the same day Nkutu reported to his new work station, he posted on his Facebook wall announcing the appointment of Mr Richard Geria, formerly Head of Sales and Marketing, to the position of General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Fast Track Productions Ltd.

Nkutu went ahead to give us a brief about Geria. “He has headed our commercial operations for four years, and previously worked for 10 years at The East African newspaper as a senior advertising sales executive. We wish him every success.” Nkutu on handing over the management role at his company assumed the oversight role of chairman.

But Nkutu had more news as he revealed that  Fast Track had signed a three-year contract with NTV Uganda under which the TV station will finance the production of The Hostel.
NTV Uganda will acquire free to air and pay TV as well as online and DVD rights across Africa and Europe for the production. Sounds like a good deal.
