Pallaso and his parentsAfter close to a decade in the US, singer Pius Mayanja a.k.a. Pallaso returned home on Tuesday. Pallaso, who formerly traded as Pius Lizzard, is a younger brother to Jose Chameleone and Goodlyfe’s Weasel.
Pallaso, who spent over 18 months serving a jail term over lack of immigration documents, was finally cleared by the US home office and offered permanent stay in 2012 before getting American citizenship last December.

The singer, who is part of the Amaaso hit that features Radio & Weasle as well as the former’s US-based singing partner The Mess, returned to be part of the Amaaso-Ntunga album launch concert due this evening at Hotel Africana People’s Space.
Pallaso received a heroic welcome as tens of fans thronged  Entebbe International Airport to receive the singer. Among them were his parents who hugged him and had a prayer moment for their son whom they had not seen physically for close to 10 years.

Radio & Weasel, as well as their promoter Bobkins Kibirige were also at the airport to receive Pallaso.
Pallaso headed to his parents’ home in Seguku where he was welcomed with a huge rooster by his father. While handing over the cock, Mr Mayanja told Pallaso that he started raising the rooster for Pallaso when he called and told him he had been freed from prison. “This cock is four years old; it has waited for you and I’m happy to hand it over to, welcome back home my son.”
Musically, Pallaso who already has duets with Sheeba, GNL, AK47 and Chameleone, told us that he is looking forward to working with many other talented artistes during his stay. “I am happy to be home. I have so many songs that Ugandans have not heard, but now I’m here. I’m going to work with a few more talented people across East Africa.”
