Ministers should not spoil my name – Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine

On Tuesday, Bobi Wine was reported to have demolished people’s houses in Busaabala near One Love Beach with claims that he owns the land. This move led the residents to call upon the intervention of Lt General Henry Tumukunde, the recently appointed Security minister.
But the musician came out and explained that what is being said about him is just a move to tarnish his name. “There is a deliberate move to tarnish my name by some people who hate me for no reason. I want to make it clear that I am not involved and neither do I have any link in the demolition of people’s houses in Busabala. It is not the first time such lies are put against me. I have never destroyed any body’s property, but some bad-hearted people are bent on destroying me by trading lies about my name,” He said in a post on his Facebook account.

Residents sought the intervention of Security minister Henry Tumukunde

He went ahead and advised his haters to stop tarnishing his name saying he has never wronged them in any way. He also cautioned “ministers” who engage in matters that they can’t defend. “It’s absurd that even ministers were invited to a public meeting but they could not stand on their two feet and tell the truth. I have no land wrangle with anybody whatsoever. Please stop spoiling my name. I own a beach in Busabala but not everything that happens in there is my responsibility. Banange mulekele awo okunyonoona mu bantu, silina kyenabakola, okukola elinya ssazza musango, which is loosely translated means, “Please stop tarnishing my name in the public because I didn’t do anything to you. I didn’t do any crime by being a public figure.”
