Chameleone sends Daily Monitor journalist off stage

It had been long ever since events promoters, journalists and show-goers have complained about singer Jose Chameleone’s arrogance. Chameleone, like his name suggest at times acts like the reptile. In the first hour you talk, laugh and share a drink together and then in the next hour, he will ask you, ‘who you are and what you are doing around me?’. This does not always end well.

Lately, the Chameleone had not changed colours. We thought he had changed. Until last weekend during the ‘Hit after Hit extra Concert’ at Gulu’s Smiling Panda Bar and Restaurant. After keeping showgoers waiting for close to three hours, he staggered on stage, visibly intoxicated. Mid way through his performance, he stopped and walked straight to the DJ box, chased him from the decks claiming he had failed to balance and rectify the sound system. He also accused him of ‘lacking deejaying skills’.

He then returned on stage and spotted Daily Monitor journalist Julius Ocungi taking photos. The musician charged at the journalist. “This is my show, it is my stage, I do not care which paper you work for. You can go off, I don’t want you here, go….” Chameleone, now a shade darker than the night, shouted into the microphone. That’s when his bouncers pounced on the journo, escorting him off stage.
