Local musician Denis Oscar Mubuuke Galiwango Kamya, alias Dizzy Nuts, famed for songs such as Fire burn dem and Mungongo has been buried at his ancestral grounds in Jandira-Kyasa village, Nkozi Sub County in Mpigi District today amidst a heavy downpour.

Dizzy Nuts died on spot in a hit and run accident at Kireka, a city suburb, on Monday, an incident that was reportedly intended to take the life of singer Moses Ssali, alias Bebe Cool.

It is reported that he had gone to perform with Bebe Cool, at Victoria Pub when a speeding Toyota Harrier vehicle knocked him as he was talking to the latter who was seated inside his car.

Another friend, Hassan Kato, who was injured in the same incident, is reportedly receiving treatment in Kampala.

At the burial, Dizzy Nuts was eulogized as a disciplined, talented, intelligent and principled musician by artistes, friends and family.

Some of the artistes who attended the burial include: Catherine Kusaasira, Angella Kalule, Dizzy Wine, Shamad Red, Dr. Propa, Producer Tony Hauls, Paddy Man and King Michael.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Matovu from Nkozi Catholic Parish condemned mass killings in the country and asked the government to tighten security and apprehend the culprits.

The deceased has been survived by three children; Ceaser Kiguli, James Solomon Kulumba and Sheebah Namitala. He however had divorced his wife, Ms Winnie Nakalyango, after a family dispute.

Dizzy Nuts, who died at the age of 31 was a member of the Gagamel Family, a music group directed by Bebe Cool. He graduated with a degree in Tourism from Makerere University.
