Media personality Faridah Nakazibwe is smiling to the bank after Red Pepper Publications limited and its now defunct subsidiary Hello Newspaper, have been ordered by the Uganda Media Council to pay her a fine amounting to Shs45 million shillings.

According to Paulo Ekochu, the Media Council chairman, in a period of one year, the local tabloids wrote 38 articles about Nakazibwe and also used her pictures without her consent.

“This was invasion of her privacy and we therefore order Red pepper to pay her a fine amounting to Shs45 million shillings,” Ekachu said.

The Media Council took the decision following a complaint forwarded to them by Nakazibwe in 2016.

Apart from this win, Nakazibwe also recently introduced her boo Dr Omar Ssali to her parents in a private ceremony.
