Abenakyo to become Uganda’s tourism ambassador

The chairperson of the Uganda Tourism Board, Mr Daudi Migereko has expressed optimism that now that Quinn Abenakyo’s winning of the Miss World Africa crown has shed a positive light on Uganda.

He said that the country could experience a boost in tourism with the beauty queen taking on the role of a kind of tourism ambassador for the country.

“This is an opportunity to use Abenakyo as the face of Uganda to boost local tourism. Abenakyo has put up an excellent performance and as a country we are bound to benefit immensely as a result of the publicity Uganda has had as a result of that excellent performance,” Mr Migereko said.

He said that the 22-year-old has put the image of the country on a different trajectory and plans by the government are underway to position the country in such a way that its tourism sector benefits.

Abenakyo is expected back in the country in a week’s time
