Jose Chameleone
After Bobi Wine won the Kyadondo East Constituency parliamentary seat, it was rumoured that in the next election, singer Joseph Mayanja, best known as Jose Chalemeone would take up a seat in another constituency in the next election.
Many brushed it off as a joke, and we soon forgot about it. Early this year, the grapevine was at it again, saying that he was gearing up for the Kampala Lord mayoral seat, which Lawyer Erias Lukwago has held for the last eight years.
Though Chameleone has not yet declared his intentions in person, the rumour is spreading like a bush fire.
Yesterday his younger brother Pius Mayanja, known by his stage name Pallaso confirmed that Chameleone will be in the running to become the next Lord Mayor of Kampala City.
“It’s not a joke, Chameleone is coming as Lord Mayor. The old people have done their part as leaders of this country, its now our turn as young people,” he said in a video published by Spark TV.
