Offices’ belonging to Ugandan Musician’s Association (UMA) have been sealed off yet again following a similar incident earlier in Sep 2019.

This comes few days after singer and President Yoweri K Museveni was enrolled into the association through his self-proclaimed manager Mr Balaam Barugahare.

The office that is located on the second floor in room Number 13 of National Theatre building was earlier this morning locked by the National Theatre administration over failure to pay rent dues for the previous quarter.

Reliable sources indicate that the association still struggles to pay debts for the previous quarter several months since when the new leadership of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) was sworn in and found a new home at National theatre.

Efforts to talk to the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) President Mrs Sophie Ggombya still remain futile since she was last seen at the National Theatre Parking and her known phones still remains off.

Last month Sophie Gombya appeared on Radio 4 on “Seetula” program and explained why the office had been closed. She also said that the office wouldn’t be closed again. “The offices were closed its true but they won’t be closed again because we are not supposed to pay rent since they are musicians and are entitled to use the National theatre for free.” She said.

Earlier, this month the Association President Ms Sophie Ggombya explained that with the enrolment of new members like Mr Museveni, the association would get relieved of financial woes.
