Guitar maestro Michael Ouma and his band serenade guests at the 19th hole prize-giving ceremony

The Singleton Golf Challenge, a tournament that is synonymous with the display of impeccable golf and the exciting 19th hole experiences happened last Saturday at Entebbe golf club. The annual tourney that had taken a hiatus owing to the Covid-19 lockdown made comeback for a fifth edition, treating golfers to a Caribbean themed 19th hole after a qualifying round of golf on the greens.

Owing to SOPS instituted to curb the spread of Covid-19, the 19th hole prize-giving ceremony had a lower tempo compared to previous editions. The hands had to be sanitized before Singleton sanitized the throats. And this time it was a cocktail that ended at 8 pm in time for golfers to return home within curfew hours. In the previous editions, the fun went on till the last man standing.

Nonetheless, it was a fun evening and the golfers were treated to a Caribbean-inspired menu cuisine accompanied with soothing music from guitar maestro Michael Ouma and his band. It was just the perfect choice as Ouma, known for his taste in music took the audience through a journey they will talk about for a long. They played classic jams, Nigerian trending songs, and some local tunes as well. The music was too much to contain as the flexible ones couldn’t prevent themselves from shaking to the blazing tunes.

The party should have continued if it wasn’t for the implemented curfew that saw the event ending at 8 pm. The first round of the tourney will begin on May 29th and it will go on for the next seven months.
