Yesterday President Museveni was sworn in for the sixth term at Kololo Airstrip. The event was graced by several guests including President, ambassadors, and many more international dignitaries.

The event went on successfully apart from a few mishaps that happened especially to do with the organisation. After the event, several images made rounds online showing VIP guests uncomfortably seated on uncovered plastic chairs, something which most Ugandans found shaming.

Social media users started pointing fingers at the organisers for that particular mishap and renowned events organiser and NRM supporter Balaam Barugahara, having often worked with the NRM, was singled out.

Balaam didn’t take this lightly as he took to his social media pages to distance himself from the poor organization.

According to him, he wasn’t part of the organising team at the 2021 Presidential swearing-in ceremony at Kololo. He further revealed that the job was handled by Digida Events noting that he too was disappointed with the poor job done by the organiser of the day.

He also hinted at how the humiliating event should be a learning experience for government to plan well for the next events. He also hinted at how the humiliating event should be a learning experience for government to plan well for the next events.

“I have seen this and many more.  I want to make it clear I was not involved in Kololo Event planning or sound provision.

Whatever happened I have nothing to do with it.  The event was managed by Digida Events. However this should be a key learning experience we should plan well next time this humiliation to our Great important invited Guests shouldn’t happen again.  A nice vip chair hire cost 3000shs from Fotegenix, A sit cover hire cost is 350shs Apologies to all the humiliated Guests on behalf of all Ugandans,” he posted.
