Eddy Kenzo dedicates Afrima award to Nessim

Eddy Kenzo is the best male artiste in East Africa in the just concluded All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2021 award ceremony that happened in Lagos Nigeria.

Kenzo beat Diamond Platnumz, Rayvany, Harmonize, Darassa and Ali Kiba (Tanzania), The Ben, Meddy (Rwanda), Sauti Sol, Bensoul and Nviiri (Kenya) as well as Lij Mic (Ethiopia) to bring the award home.

The ‘Weekend’ singer however dedicated his win to producer Nessim who masterminded his ‘Weekend’ jam that has been ruling the airwaves since its release. “A big congratulations to all of us my people. East Africa juuuuuu. Producer Nesim gano manyigo muzey thank you so much papa. It’s a weekend,” Kenzo posted.

Nessim Mukuza is one of the music industry’s favorite producers with unique sound beats. He has worked with artistes like A Pass, Ykee Benda, Charlie na Nina, and Harmonize among others.

In a video clip, Kenzo also thanked his fans, fellow artistes and Afrima for honoring him.

“My people it’s your boy Eddy Kenzo and I am here to give a big shout out to Afrima. Thank you for rewarding me as the best East African artist of 2021. Thank you so much to the fans, to all the people in my category, all nominees, all East African artistes, African artistes, and to all Ugandan artistes who represented Uganda in Afrima.” He said.

Kenzo was however not the only Ugandan artiste nominated. The awards also saw Bebe Cool, B2C, Spice Diana, and Afrie nominated in other categories.
