Musician and events promoter Tshaka Mayanja has come out and blamed Ugandan artistes for being lazy and ignorant, saying it’s the main reason Ugandan music hasn’t cut across.
While being hosted on NBS earlier this week, the Jazz Safari proprietor said artistes are not doing enough yet some have what it takes to make it globally. He advised them to put in more effort if they are to reach greater heights.
He didn’t cut some slack for the media, which he said is fronting artistes they are not supposed to front.
“We have good artistes, including Myko Ouma, Grey Naava, Kenneth Mugabi and Kaz Kasozi but they are not given enough platform like many others I keep seeing on TV,” he said.
