Comedian Madrat
Renowned comedian Dickson Lubega aka Madrat of the famous comedy duo Madrat and Chico converted to Islam over the weekend In Zanzibar.
In a video shared by an Islamic media organisation, Madrat in presence of friends and family said the declaration of Faith popularly known as Shahada.
Madrat also used the moment to reveal what prompted his decision to Islam.
He said Muslims have been there for him through thick and thin giving an example of a one Juma who took over parental responsibilities of Madrat after he lost his parents.
“He unconditionally raised me without forcing me to convert,” he said. The comedian joins Hassan alias Geosteady and Luqman alias Vincent Ssegawa among others.
His Muslim name has not yet been revealed.
