Comedian Akite to perform at Funny Bunny months after cheating death

Agnes Akite

Agnes Akite

Just outside her gate in December last year, goons attacked comedian Agnes Akite and almost beat her to death. She had been bedridden after sustaining several injuries, including a head injury, and was in and out of the hospital for months until recently when she stabilized and returned to the stage.

Akite has performed at about two shows, but the main event will be the Funny Bunny show. The show will happen on May 28, at Wombo Restaurant located on George Street behind Central Police Station in Kampala.

Before the accident, Akite had built a name as one of the best female stand-up comedians who would grace all the big shows in and out of Kampala. Speaking to Akite, she says that the setback didn’t affect her comedy career and that she still has what it takes to put up a good show, and those who doubt, they should meet her at the Funny Bunny show next Tuesday.
