Benon Mugumbya opens up on Rabadaba’s short-lived tenure at Swangz Avenue

Swangz Avenue producer and shareholder Benon Mugumbya recently shared details about the label’s first artist, Faisal Seguya, better known as Rabadaba. In an interview on Vybe Life Ug with Eddie Sendi and Jenkins Mukasa, Benon explained that while Rabadaba was the first artist signed to Swangz Avenue, his time with the label was brief due to a misalignment of priorities.

According to Benon, Rabadaba’s tenure was short because he wanted a car, whereas Swangz Avenue was focused on producing a music video for his song “Bwekiri.” Benon expressed understanding for Rabadaba’s situation, acknowledging that his sudden rise to fame came with significant pressure from peers.

Benon emphasized that managing an already established artist presents challenges, comparing it to finishing a building without knowing its foundation. He stressed the importance of aligning expectations and building a solid foundation before taking on high-profile artists.
