Ugandan comedians; Dr Hillary Okello, Kaptain Kreative and Patrick Salvador will be battling the rest of Africa in this year’s Africa Golden Awards in the Top Male stand-up comedian category slated for May 3 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The trio will be battling it out with some of Africa’s power houses in the comedy industry, including South Africa’s Trevor Noah, Bovi from Nigeria, Ob Amponsah from Ghana and Tom Daktari from Kenya, among others.
When asked about his chances, Dr Hillary Okello said he is so optimistic on winning this accolade.
“Just getting a nomination is a win for me but what I can tell you is that every comedian nominated has the same number of chances at winning this category. Being selected means I am one of the best,” said Dr Hillary Okello, who is also staging a Stand-up comedy event tonight at National Theatre.
