A common question that arises is how Swangz Avenue manages to help the artistes they sign thrive, especially when many other labels, both in Uganda and across Africa, struggle to do the same.
According to Julius Kyazze, one of the shareholders of the label, the key lies in the supportive environment they create for their artistes, which allows them to work with peace of mind.
Kyazze explained, “We have a policy; if a contract is bad or unfair, the artiste will eventually realise it, and that is when the relationship starts to sour.
That is why we do not sign artistes before they have consulted with their lawyers and families. Our practices are fair, our operations are transparent, and we offer equitable contracts.” He shared this during his appearance on NBS TV’s After 5.
