Ugandan artiste Alien Skin, known for his high-energy performances and raw street credibility, is nursing injuries after a shocking attack over the weekend in Iganga, Eastern Uganda.
The Fangone Forest boss was among the headlining acts at the belated Women’s Day commemoration, held at Iganga Municipal Primary School. True to form, the self-proclaimed ‘Kimenke’ lit up the stage, delivering a show that had the crowd buzzing and asking for more.
But the celebration took a dark turn.
Shortly after his performance, chaos broke out. A group of unidentified individuals launched an attack on Alien Skin and his team. Videos that have surfaced online show his car being pelted with objects, and according to eyewitnesses, the artiste sustained a deep cut on his forehead during the melee.
While the full motive behind the attack remains unclear, early reports suggest a political angle, with claims pointing fingers at supporters of Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP). If true, the incident adds yet another layer to Uganda’s increasingly tense intersection between entertainment and politics.
“It was wild. One minute the guy is being cheered on stage, the next, he’s ducking flying stones,” said one of the revellers who witnessed the scene.
Alien Skin has not yet released an official statement, but sources close to the artiste confirm he is recovering and under observation. His camp has remained tight-lipped, but fans are hoping he speaks out soon.
Online, the reactions have been sharply divided. While many fans and public figures have condemned the violence, others have controversially praised the attackers, citing past political tensions between Alien Skin and NUP loyalists.
What started as a celebration of women turned into a disturbing display of hostility—and once again, artists find themselves caught in the middle of Uganda’s heated socio-political atmosphere.
For now, all eyes remain on Alien Skin as fans wait to hear his side of the story. One thing is certain—the streets may have made him, but they’re just as quick to turn.
