Sheebah Karungi is back in the country after spending four months in Canada, where it’s believed she had gone to conceive. The singer quietly returned on Saturday and headed straight to her home in Munyonyo.
To mark her return, the self-proclaimed Swagg Moma took to social media to express her frustration with the way things are currently running in Uganda—particularly the erratic power supply.
“By the way, naye ekya electricity tukikoledde ki banange! (What are we going to do about this electricity?). Are we supposed to live in constant worry like this?? This has been going on since I was a child, and now I have a child… and still, no solution yet??!!” she posted.
While she may have expected empathy from her fans, the response was far from sympathetic. Many social media users ridiculed her sentiments, accusing her of exaggeration and attention-seeking.
“Kati kewafunye omwana tuwede. Tomulinze nakuweza mwaka, already otandise otulangila,” tweeted a user named Mwesigwa, mocking her for complaining too soon after childbirth.
“Call Muhoozi,” SimON Nunez sarcastically advised.
“You now have a child, so what?” added Kababido.
Another follower, Jonan, quipped: “Thank Cindy helped you go to motherhood, Umeme now making you a better mother.”
Some went as far as suggesting she return to where she had been:
“Kindly go back to wherever you’ve been. Don’t disturb us!” wrote Jimmy Baluku.
“Your age mates have children in secondary school. That nonsense of ‘now I have a child’ should stop,” commented Ainamani Daniel.
“Out for half a year and you’re speaking as if it’s been a lifetime,” another user chimed in.
While Sheebah’s concerns about the electricity crisis echo a long-standing national frustration, her return has clearly struck a nerve online—highlighting just how quickly public opinion can shift, even for beloved celebrities.
