It was an unforgettable experience as many thronged Rubaga Miracle Centre in Kampala for spiritual healing and deliverance led by world-renowned televangelist, Pr Benny Hinn. Hosted by Pr Robert Kayanja, the three-day crusade which started on Friday drew believers from far and wide Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, DR Congo, Burundi, India, China, the Netherlands, South Africa, and beyond, all united by a deep hunger for healing, hope, and divine intervention.
From the early morning hours, the cathedral grounds were filled with songs of praise, vibrant dancing, and unending prayers.
Worshippers carried the sick on wheelchairs, stretchers, and some in their arms believing in the power of God to heal them through prayer. When Pr Benny Hinn stepped onto the pulpit, he was welcomed by a thunderous applause from the believers. In his sermon, he thanked Uganda for embracing Christianity and prayed for lasting peace in the nation.
Then came powerful sessions of healing, where testimonies of miracles unfolded. Some cried with joy as their pain apparently disappeared while others raised their crutches claiming to have been delivered. However, as he concluded his sermon, Pr Benny Hinn expressed deep concern over the rising cases of mental health challenges, not only among the youth but also church leaders. “I am burdened by the rate at which our young people are silently battling mental health issues, the youth and even pastors are killing themselves. This is a spiritual and emotional emergency we can no longer ignore,” Hinn said.
The American preacher, who is visiting Uganda for the third time, called on the Church to become a place of healing not only for the physically sick but also for those suffering silently with depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma. Pr Kayanja, full of gratitude, thanked the Ugandan government for promoting freedom of worship and creating an environment where such spiritual gatherings could thrive.
