How Bebe Cool celebrated singer Butcherman’s presidential appointment

Since last evening, the internet has been buzzing over President’s Museveni’s appointment of local artiste Catherine Kusasira as his advisor on Kampala Affairs and faded singer musically faded Mark Bugembe popularly known as Butcherman a presidential envoy on Ghetto affairs.

The appointment of Butcherman who has been doing music for more than a decade, starting out as Bobi Wine’s wingman in the Firebase Crew, comes as a surprise since he has not been as close to the president as Kusasira.

The former Uganja republic vice president fell out with his then-boss, Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi and went on to declare himself the Ghetto president after Bobi Wine was elected the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament.

The appointment was during the President’s interaction with youth in Katwe on Saturday.

“I met the trailblazing Moses Kayira, who has assembled two cars: Uganda 1 and Uganda 2. He offered me a test drive in one of the cars. The government is going to support the likes of Kayira in promoting further innovations and many other novel ideas geared towards exploiting their abilities for national development. If they can do so much single-handedly, then government support will stretch their ability to deliver on innovations the world is yet to see,” Museveni posted on his social media platforms.

However, reacting to Butcherman’s appointment singer Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool, who’s a party member, said the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) should be credited for his achievement.

“I have tears of joy in my eyes because for sure despite all the hardships Butcherman has gone through, he has always stayed truthful and respectful of the journey and the reason as to why we are who we are, big or small in the music industry,” Bebe Cool posted on his social media platforms.

According to him, the peace and security created by the NRM in the country paved the way to the growth of the Uganda entertainment industry.

“The peace and security created by the NRM in UGANDA paved the way to the growth of the UGANDA entertainment industry hence all the household names rich or poor, of course, the later depending on how smart, hardworking, focused, patience, consistency and of course fear of God.
You might come in last but the fact is you are inside and make good use of it. Congz bro,” he added.

During the interaction, Museveni launched the NRM empowerment office for youth living and working in the areas of Kibuye and Katwe.

“The office will be a registration point for SACCOs and will make it easy for us to support the youth in their different product groups,” Museveni said.
