Mc Kats recognized for advocacy role

Celebrated events M.C. Edwin Katamba alias Mc Kats was last week recognized for his fight against HIV stigma and discrimination among the youth. The Uganda AIDS Commission awarded the M.C. in appreciation for his advocacy but it was the King of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV that handed over the award to Mc Kats.

The ceremony happened at Hotel Africana during the recently concluded National HIV and AIDS scientific meeting featuring the 14th Annual joint AIDS review and Philly Lutaaya Memorial Lecture. “I am truly honored to be presented with this award. It means a lot to me. It feels good to be appreciated for something you do with passion,” said the former Xposed presenter.

Organized by the Uganda AIDS Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Research Academia and Professionals Self Coordinating Entity, the three-day meeting had discussions and presentations from other HIV/AIDS advocates.
