He can’t run. And while the medal he won in the 100m sprint in the East African legislators games in Arusha would say otherwise, his persistent beatings by security speaks for itself.
Organisers of the legislators’ games now say there is irrefutable evidence that Zaake can’t run.
The decision follows a petition by one of the losers from Zanzibar.
“It’s difficult to be convinced that someone can win a race in which their lives are not at stake but fail to run away each time security Forces come for him,” Hassan bin Almabi said in his petition.
“moreover security forces wear heavy boots,” he added.
Zaake said the organisers were simply mocking his plight.
“They are worse than NRM,” he said.
