The first edition of the Kigampala festival is happening this Saturday at the Lugogo cricket Oval.

This is going to be a joint culture entertainment event to promote the togetherness of both Uganda and Rwanda and it is going to be headlined by several activities including performances from some of the leading artistes on both sides including Bruce Melody, Ray G, Levixone, The Ben, Salvador Daddy Andre, Lydia Jazmine, Ykee Benda, Valentino and Cindy among others.

According to Paul Mulangira, one of the organizers of the event, the concept of the festival stems from the relationship between both countries.

“Many Ugandans have roots in Rwanda and vice versa so there has been a big bond and we would like to celebrate that. We share a lot in cultures, food, women, tourism, and music so this is going to be a celebration of that,” he said.

He added that from Uganda, the celebrations are happening in Rwanda next year and that if all goes well, they will be engaging other East African countries as well.
