Artistes Azawi and Ray G
They say a picture can tell a thousand stories and that is exactly what happened Wednesday when Azawi and Ray G posted the picture of themselves seated together, on their different social media handles.
As the picture went viral on social media, Ray G came out in an interview and credited Eddy Kenzo for interceding in his differences with Azawi.
“It was Eddy Kenzo. He reached out to both of us and it was a good thing because I wouldn’t say anything until I heard from the other party,” Ray G said.
He added that as a calm person, he only wanted them to reach a middle ground by speaking face to face and not through social media.
“I had no problem with Azawi maybe it is because of the way her social media handlers took this whole situation with the long post which was their mind but we are ok,” he said.
This whole scuffle started after a video circulated on social media late last year showing Ray G following Azawi from backstage to the stage visibly unhappy with Azawi’s decision to perform first. Ray G is seen confronting Azawi backstage and later on stage about who should have the mic to perform first.
Later, Azawi posted that Ray G’s behaviour was unprofessional.
“Your interruption during my performance, along with verbal abuse, and now using this for attention, deserves an apology from you. As an artist, I don’t control event schedules. When my music is playing and the promoter hands me the mic and the stage, I perform. Your attempt to disrupt my set was unprofessional,” reads part of her post.
