King Saha
Police on Thursday announced that they had cancelled a much anticipated Friday music concert by singer Manisul Ssemanda, known by his stage name as King Saha.
“Today, Uganda Police Force has halted a local music event which was organized by Mr Benon Galabuzi of Umoja management where a musician popularly known as King Saha was to feature,” police spokesperson, Mr Kituuma Rusoke said in a Thursday evening statement hours to the concert at Cricket Oval Lugogo, Kampala.

According to Mr Rusoke, the cancellation of the show is based on the recommendations of the joint security and the national security technical team which reportedly observed signs of “potential structural failure on the facility, likely to endanger public safety.”
“So, as Uganda Police Force we have halted the event until there are rectifications on the facility so as to protect the revellers,” Mr Rusoke added.
The cancellation has, however, left social media buzzing with many commentators speculating that the police decision was motivated more by “King Saha’s political interests and affiliation than the safety of Ugandans.”
Mr Ssemanda is a sworn supporter of musician turned-politician, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine who is the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Mr Kyagulanyi who contested against President Museveni in the 2021 general election but lost was banned from holding music concerts in Uganda.
Mr Ssemanda has lately been seen in the company of Mr Kyagulanyi during mobilization activities for his political party. Mr Kyagulanyi had on Thursday morning confirmed attendance and even booked a table at Mr Ssemanda’s concert.
