Uganda’s Queen of Comedy, Anne Kansiime, is about to trade punchlines for the hot seat in what promises to be the most hilarious event of the year. The Comedy Grill and guess who’s bringing the flavor? Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger.
In a bold and refreshing twist, Uganda Waragi has officially partnered with Kansiime’s debut Comedy Grill, set to sizzle on May 9th at the Sheraton Gardens Kampala. The event will see Uganda’s top comedy and entertainment stars come together to roast or better yet, grill the comedy queen herself.
“This isn’t just another comedy night,” said Hillary Baguma, Brand Manager, Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries. “We’re turning up the heat with something fresh, bold, and unmistakably Ugandan — just like our Lemon & Ginger blend.”
In a celebration of wit, culture, and unapologetic humour, The Comedy Grill will feature a star-studded lineup of “Grill Chefs” including Salvador, Madrat and Chico, GNL Zamba, Nana Kagga, Gaetano Kagwa, Dr Miria Matembe, Sheila Gashumba, Sky, Prim Asiimwe, and Daniel Omara, all hosted by the fiery duo Tuwangye Richard and Deedan Muyira.
The announcement was spiced up with a teaser mini-roast involving Kansiime herself, giving fans a taste of the heat to come — and it was nothing short of side-splitting.
“Uganda’s comedy scene is about to get a whole lot hotter,” said Kansiime, flashing her trademark smile. “And with Lemon & Ginger in the mix, you know we’re serving laughter with a twist.”
