Jay Park, Drake and Offset are some of the artistes who have had fans throw undergarments at them during several performances.   In Uganda, that had never happened until last Saturday evening at Kampala Serena Hotel Victoria Hall during The Ben’s Plenty Love Ugandan tour.

The Ben, a Rwandan artiste with Ugandan roots has been embodied as sexy and during his second set, a red bra flew out of the audience onto the stage. Luckily it did not hit him as he continued with his performance completely ignoring it. After a few seconds, one of his aides, collected it, leaving the rest of the audience surprised. About 70% of the attendees at this show were female and they displayed their affection to the singer by screeming on top of their voices at every song he performed. They sang his songs word for word.

The last time The Ben performed in Uganda, his catalog was not that big. Infact some people were left disappointed. This time, he did two sets, with each comprising about six songs, some collaborations with his fellow Rwandan acts; Element Eleeeh and Kevin Kade on Sikosa and This Is Love with Rema Namakula.   Other songs he did include Ndaje,Plenty, Fine, Loose Control, Why, Naremeye,Roho Ko nahindutse, Wigenda, Ndaje, Best friend Forever, I’m in love, Binkolela, Ntacyadutanya, Habibi,Vazi, True love and Thank you.

The Ben’s performance was engaging, often asking the crowd whether they were enjoying. He would also explain the lyrics behind some of his songs and how deep they mean in his life. He also described his Uganda roots, explaining it all in Luganda. “I love you so much. I was born here. My parents were born here. I left this place when I was six and returned in 2016. I am part of you and you are part of me,” he said to wild cheers from the audience.
